Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) – Boost Your Account Security
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) – Boost Your Account Security
Updated over a month ago

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an important layer of protection to your Shock account, making it harder for unauthorized users to access your account. While traditionally, accounts are accessed with just a username and password, enabling 2FA adds an extra step: a randomized code sent to a device you own. This extra step helps secure your account from unwanted or illegal access.

Once you’ve set up 2FA, this added security will extend to actions like redeeming rewards and sending funds, primarily to protect your account and your assets.

Setting Up 2FA on Shock

To get started, follow these steps:

  1. Install an Authenticator App
Download Authy (recommended) or Google Authenticator on your mobile device.

  2. Link Your Device to Shock
Head to your Profile> Account Info page and select enable next to Two-Step Verification. Follow the instructions to link your device to your Shock account. You can either copy the provided string into your authenticator app or scan the displayed QR code.

  3. Complete the Setup
After linking your device, enter your password and the generated two-factor code from your authenticator app into the form on your security settings page to finish the setup.

Important Security Note

Never share your QR code or the provided string with anyone, as this could give unauthorized individuals access to your account. Keeping this information private is crucial to ensuring your account stays secure.

If you have any issues or need assistance setting up 2FA, our support team is available 24/7 to help you secure your account.
